The call for participants to Black Factory Cinema‘s 5th practical workshop “Filming in Peru with Werner Herzog”, will be opened from December 8th until February 7th 2018. After three editions of working with Abbas Kiarostami in Colombia 2014, Spain 2015 and Cuba 2016; and the experience with the German filmmaker in San Antonio de los Baños in 2017, Black Factory Cinema organizes its practical workshop in the Peruvian Amazonian jungle. From May 1st -11th 2018, the selected filmmakers will visit the National Reserve of Tambopata, located in the core of the Amazonas, to make a shortfilm under Werner Herzog’s guidance.
The base of the workshop will be the facilities of Inkaterra Guides Field Station, a Peruvian organization devoted to sustainable development, ecoturism and biodiversity research in the region; old friends and allies of Herzog cinema, in the production of such intense shootings as Aguirre, the Warth of God and Fitzcarraldo.
