After the excellent reception of the first appearance of the Iranian director in Bogotá – Colombia, Black Factory Cinema aims to extend its training courses for professionals and the public in different cities.
During 10 days, Abbas Kiarostami, his team and 50 workshop participants will immerse themselves in filmmaking, ultimately resulting in 50 short films inspired by the places and people from the region of Catalonia.
A pre-selection of locations and actors will be made available to students to further the work of pre-production.
Each work will be completed under the guidance of the Iranian director who will individually guide each student during all stages of development to reach the final film: from the original idea, the visual treatment, the narrative construction of the editing, to the finished product.
For 10 days, 50 participants will have the privilege of developing a short film led under the advice and supervision of renowned filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, one of Iran’s most influential and controversial filmmakers and photographers, and one of the most awarded and acclaimed by the international film community.
The workshop is based on creation by individual practice, so it is essential that each participant is autonomous and has basic knowledge in image and editing, as well as having access to their own personal technical equipment to shoot and edit their short (a camera and a computer equipped with an editing program).
Abbas Kiarostami will guide the pace of the workshop and decide the theme to be addressed in the short films, as well as recording times and locations where shooting will take place.
